Frequently Asked Questions

TEXTBOOK RENTALS
Q: What is a textbook rental?
A: All you do is a pay a portion of the purchase price and return it back at the end of the semester.

Q: How long do I get to keep a rental?
A: The rental isn’t due back until the end of the semester. For all summer terms, rentals are due on or before July 27th, 2020.

Q: I like to buy my books instead of renting because I may need them.  Why should I rent?
A: The GNTC Bookstore has a No-Risk Rental Program meaning the full rental price paid can be applied to the purchase price at the end of the semester if you want to keep your book. For example, if the rental price is $25 and the purchase price is $75, you would pay $50 to keep the book at the end of the semester.

Q: Can I rent books or packages with an access code in them?
A: Yes, the rental price includes the purchase of the access code, and the book will need to be returned at the end of the semester.

Q: Can I write or highlight in my rental?
A: Yes, normal use of writing/highlighting in the book is allowed. Excessive highlighting or writing can result in the rental being deemed damaged (See question below).

Q: What if I lost or damaged my rentals?
A: You only have to pay the difference in how much was paid for the rental minus the purchase price.
